Richard A. Guthrie, MD, FACE, attended started college at Graceland College, now Graceland University, and later transferred to the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, and was awarded his medical degree in 1960. He joined the U.S. Navy, where he served his internship and spent time stationed at Camp Pendleton in California and then in the Philippines. Dr. Guthrie’s residency training followed at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. He is fellowship trained at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. He received board certification in pediatric endocrinology from the American Board of Pediatrics and remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations. Moreover, he attained fellowship of the American Association of Endocrinology having met the standards and guidelines required of the nation’s leading endocrinologists. As a result of his outstanding performance in the field of pediatric endocrinology, The International Association of HealthCare Professionals (IAHCP) has selected Richard A. Guthrie, MD, FACE, to be featured in the premier publication of The Leading Physicians of the World. He was honored with an American Diabetes Award as Outstanding Physician-Clinician and a Lifetime Achievement Award and Health Care Hero recognition by The Wichita Business Journal. He feels that his success is attributable primarily to his dedication to his patients and his education and training in Missouri and Kansas, and dedicates his spare time to teaching and photography.
